Frequently Asked Questions

Solidify your travel dates and do some flight research beforehand. You book the flights; I handle the rest.

I follow your lead. Many of my clients discover that a well-structured vacation actually gives them more freedom to be present and enjoy their downtime. However, itinerary design isn’t for everyone, and I’m happy to craft a Personalized Planning Guide that allows you to make decisions as you go.

Great! Just mention them early in the planning process, and I’ll weave them in.

I don’t book airfare directly, but I can offer advice (Skyscanner is my go-to.) Most people hire me after their flights are locked in place.

Yes, I am a licensed travel agent, which allows me to book on your behalf. I can also provide access to discounts, perks, and amenities. However, if you’d rather stay at a condo or vacation rental, I’m happy to book that, too.

Traditional travel agents don’t charge a booking fee because they work off hotel commissions. Understandably, their motivation is primarily driven by where you stay (and how much you pay). I charge a travel planning fee because I prefer to be motivated by finding you the perfect fit. I became a licensed travel agent to provide my clients with discounts, as well as complimentary perks and amenities. So, if you want to stay at a fancy resort, I’ve got the hookup. If you want to camp out with your family in a VW bus on the side of a volcano, OMG, yes, let’s do it.

All payments must be prepaid in full after a free consultation, signed contract, and agreed-upon delivery date. After the consultation, you will be emailed a payment link to secure your start date and allow me to start planning.

This is super common! We can discuss it during your consultation, or you can take this quiz beforehand.

No problem! Flexibility is key, and I’m here to make sure your vacation exceeds your expectations. I’ll always disclose any non-refundable cancellations or change fees, which would be your responsibility.

You choose the available delivery date, and I’ll make it happen.

Not at all! My planning process is collaborative. Some people like to stay very involved, and some prefer a more hands-off approach. You’re in control, I’ll adjust as needed.

My itinerary planning service is designed to cover your entire family vacation, with as much downtime and flexibility as you’d like. If you prefer to handle certain aspects yourself, my other services offer guidance without taking over the whole process.

Yep! Your itinerary will be available on the Trip Plans App, which works offline. You’ll also receive a PDF copy for added peace of mind, and I always recommend printing the PDF before you head out—just to be safe.

No problem. I can plan trips for large groups with a variety of preferences.

In most cases, my clients actually end up saving money! As a travel advisor, I have access to exclusive discounts, perks like resort credits, and even complimentary daily breakfast. Many clients hire me to ensure they know where to go without overpaying. Plus, time is money—and I can save you a lot of that.

If one of your reservations is canceled, I will notify you immediately, and the company will issue a refund. While I don’t work directly for hotels or tour companies and can’t control the weather, people, or logistics, I’m happy to research and rebook on your behalf if needed. I always recommend purchasing trip insurance for extra peace of mind!

Unforeseen circumstances happen (trip insurance is your friend)! If I’ve handled your bookings, I’ll also take care of the cancellation process. Please note that my travel planning packages are non-refundable, as the time invested can’t be erased. However, I’m happy to apply your payment to a future travel date and adjust your plans as needed.

I specialize in Hawaii travel only. Most of my clients book vacations to the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai, or Big Island (Hawaii Island). But I can also arrange travel to the Hawaiian islands of Lanai and Molokai. Some families choose to island-hop and visit multiple islands during one vacation.

Prices and availability in Hawaii rarely improve with time, so the earlier, the better. A general rule of thumb is six months to a year in advance. That said, I’ve planned some epic last-minute vacations. It can be done!

A trip to Hawaii isn’t cheap, no matter how you slice it. For a family of four, a ten-day vacation can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 (or more), depending on your travel style. However, there are plenty of ways to save, like using points for flights, choosing vacation rentals with full kitchens, and more.

The answer depends heavily on your family’s vacation style and budget. However, Hawaii is never something you want to rush! Given factors like flight/drive time, jet lag, time differences, and downtime, I suggest a full seven days for one island. If you plan to visit two islands, opt for ten. Three islands is a lot, but it’s been done, and for this, I suggest nothing shorter than two weeks.

There truly is no bad time to visit Hawaii! Many of my clients visit over spring/fall/summer break when their kids are out of school, but it’s important to note that prices are often higher and it’s busier during these times. The easiest time to visit Hawaii is during its shoulder seasons: April-May and September-early October. This is when the islands are less crowded and rainy, and prices tend to drop a bit. But if you’re working around your kid’s school schedule or have other plans, don’t stress it. Hawaii is always a good idea.
